People grow. The kids who make "ringtone rap" will be living and learning and growing year by year. Some will switch up as they grow up. You can't teach a child knowledge if you can't build a bridge between generations. I agree with the Blastmaster in that respect. I don't like the young guy's work, but that's why God gave someone the good sense to make the STOP button, the NEXT button, and free will.

This video just pisses me off. We are making music here, not raising kids. I understand were kris is at but Hip hop is competitive art form as well, thats why we battle. I don't blame the kid though. This new generation is lost, and is the product of clear channel, short run quarterly profits, reagan/clinton deregulation, and internet downloads. Have we stayed true? or are we just lowering the bar? I rather see hip hop die off than get transformed into this crap, then at least we could look back and reflect positively than make a minstrel show out of it. Oh and as far as you guys thinking they will switch up and make better music?.. thats never going to change unless you can change the cultural meme and consumer demand. There is no artistic development. Rappers are like stock, you buy them while theyre "hot" and sell them when you cant profit off them anymore. it isnt just hop hop though its music in general. Think about it. would there be an eric clapton, stevie wonder, or prince in 2009? probably not.
